*GROWN HERE ON OUR FARM IN TENNESSEE*
** 15 STRAWBERRY TOMATO SEEDS **
This heirloom variety looks like a strawberry!
These clustered, vine-ripened fruits are very meaty, with thick walls and core but very few seeds.
Strawberry Tomatoes are a deep reddish color both on the exterior and interior.
They actually grow in clusters on the vine and have a strawberry shape which is where they get their name.
These tomatoes are a beautiful and delicious addition to any dish.
The flavor is intense and leaves a very pleasant after-taste. Because of minimal interior gel, this is a great slicing tomato.
The lack of seeds also makes it a fantastic sauce tomato. Excellent shelf life compared to other kinds of tomatoes.
strawberry tomato salad recipe
1 cup strawberry tomatoes, diced into very small cubes (about 1/4″ per side)
1 cup small strawberries, trimmed and diced into very small strips (about 1/4″ per side)
1 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 tsp aged balsamic vinegar
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 ounce goat cheese, crumbled
In small mixing bowl, toss together tomatoes, strawberries, oil, vinegar, and salt. Let marinate at room temperature 10 minutes.
To serve, place the mixture into a 3″ diameter pastry ring on individual plates, pressed to pack lightly. Remove the rings delicately, top each salad with goat cheese, and serve.
