Flesh is yellow/orange with deliciously sweet melon-like flavor..... Papaya fruit is an excellent source of valuable health giving nutrients as well as generous amounts of digestive enzymes..... Fun Facts: The black seeds of the papaya are edible and have a sharp, spicy taste..... They are sometimes ground and used as a substitute for black pepper......papaya contains about 6% of the level of beta carotene found in carrots.....Mix diced papaya, cilantro, jalapeno peppers and ginger together to make a unique salsa that goes great with shrimp, scallops and halibut.
