The Datil pepper is an extremely Rare hot pepper of the species Capsicum chinense, and is one of the hottest peppers in the world!
However, in addition to simply being an exceptionally hot pepper!,
a Datil pepper has a distinctly smoked and fruity flavor!
If you've never tried one, but like hot peppers, then this is a must taste item!
The Datil is an exceptionally "HOT" pepper, a variety of the species Capsicum chinense (syn. Capsicum sinense).
Majority are produced in St. Augustine, Florida, where they have been traditionally cultivated for Two-Hundred thirty years!
Caution: The fruits of this chile variety are extremely hot. It is advised to wear gloves when handling the peppers, keep them away from children, and thoroughly clean all kitchen utensils like cutting boards, knives etc. When grinding dreid DATIL'S, wear a breathing mask, protect your eyes. Don't touch any sensitive parts before cleaning your hands thoroughly first. And use these peppers sparingly - it is always easier to kick up the heat of a dish than toning it down.
This is one of the Hottest pepper in the world and extreme caution must be taken when handling or eating these peppers. The Capsaicin oil does not wash easily with water. Please wear gloves when handling these pods or seeds!
